TOGETHER, PLEASE HELP RAISE $215,155 SO 100 BROKEN-HEARTED WOMEN CAN BE FOUND, CLEANSED, HEALED AND RESTORED TO LIFE AFTER FISTULA.
In remote Tanzania many years ago, Rafeea’s childbirth went horribly wrong. With no birthcare or support, her most intimate parts were permanently torn. For fifteen unbearable years, Rafeea has suffered uncontrollable leaking of urine and faeces from her vagina.
We apologise if that shocks you. Fistula is one of the world’s most confronting disabilities.
Fistula doesn’t happen in New Zealand anymore, but in the poorest places on Earth, up to 100,000 women a year experience the tearing, the stench, the shame and often the tragic loss of their baby.
Donate now, to surgically repair the tear of fistula, and wipe away the tears of the world’s most wounded women.
If you donate $100 or more, we will send you a unique miniature Binti doll, made by a woman at the Mabinti Centre. She will have a new chance to rebuild her life, thanks to your generosity.
“I had experienced a third degree tearing during the birth,” Rafeea said. “It was horrible. I didn’t understand why I was leaking. I did not know what fistula was,”
“I would wet myself or faeces would leak out. I have no control when I wee or poo, so I always smell.”
What horrible things for a woman to have to say about herself. Can you imagine it? Rafeea is a daughter of God, created for dignity and worth, not for humiliation, shame and a constant foul smell.
Please help set women like Rafeea free from a life of anguish. Donate towards fistula treatment now. Your gift will help pay for surgery and care at CCBRT, the disability hospital cbm supports in Tanzania.
“It will change my life,” Rafeea says. “Life will be so good. I will be healthy. I have been ashamed for anyoneto see me. I could not go out or see my neighbours. I have been very sad.”
Please donate now to bind up a woman’s heart that has been broken by the pain and shame of fistula.
