A year ago, a small island country in the Caribbean was devastated by an earthquake.
An estimated 300,000 people sustained injuries that could lead to a disabilities, and over
one million people made homeless.
cbm took part in the international response to help those affected, focusing on the needs of people with disability, and with newly acquired debilitating injuries. Our international expertise in dealing with disability and poverty situations, combined with 30 years experience working in Haiti, meant that we were well poised to help our partner organisations rebuild lives.
