Kingsley's new start from 'just blind' to kingly leadership Born blind in Cameroon, Kingsley was 'unimportant' and ignored as a child, but he has grown up to become very special."I was 'just blind'," he says. "People wouldn't let me talk. My parents were very sad. The world was coming to an end for me. " Kingsley was banned from school for being blind. How could he ever hope to escape poverty? The generosity of cbm supporters was Kingsley's only hope. Eight years ago, we provided him a place in a school near his village. He received his education. When Kingsley came home to Moh, people noticed an incredible difference. Confidence and self worth shone from him. People realised that a young person with an education has so much to offer, even if he can't see. Just out of high school, Kingsley has already been voted onto his local council, and unanimously elected his village representative in community meetings. The child who was ignored is now the voice of the village! That is what happens when someone likes you supports a child like Kingsley. He is very grateful. "I have been rescued. I give all the glory to God for cbm and the opportunity I have been given." Ninety per cent of children with disabilities in developing countries do not attend school. Kingsley says, "Before education, I just existed. After education, I live."You can help other children to live life to the fullest, like Kingsley. Please click "donate" and give a generous gift, right now. "Donate" "What will my gift do for a child like Kingsley?" $200 can help a school like Kingsley's open its doors to more children. If you donate $50, it can contribute towards school books and supplies for a blind student. A gift of $100 will equip a team to visit the most remote corners of the poorest places, to find ignored children like Kingsley waiting for a life of opportunity to begin. |
