Child Disability Sponsorship

The best new way to help the world’s most vulnerable children like Fred and Vincent

This little light of mine, I’m going to let it shine.

As a cbm Child Disability Sponsor, your monthly gift of $30 will help the world’s most vulnerable children to shine.

Living in poverty is hard enough, but 80% of children like Vincent won’t survive the double disadvantage of poverty and disability. These children have the hardest life of all, but you can make it better.

Vincent's Story

Fred was born with cleft palate. It made it difficult for him to feed and grow. It made him vulnerable to sickness. It made it impossible for him to speak properly ... and his childhood was ruined by the fear, rejection and scorn of others, because of his disfigured face.

It broke his mother’s heart every time Fred came running home in tears, covering his face. Children with cleft palate are called horrible things ... like ‘monster’. He was too frightened to ever go to school.

Vincent lost both his parents to HIV/AIDS. He misses them dreadfully.

As if this wasn't hard enough to deal with, Vincent became blind from cataracts.
Living on only 40c per day his aunt and uncle, who now care for him can't afford the surgery he needs.

Because of this disability Vincent is now teased by other children and has been barred from school.

For a child living in poverty and disability, like Fred and Vincent, the best way you can help is to become a cbm Child Disability Sponsor.

It means signing up for a monthly gift of $30. Each month your gift will provide life-saving medical intervention and ongoing care.

For Fred and Vincent, that means an operation (which their desperately poor families could never afford), plus on-going care which includes help to catch up at school. Because their families are so poor, cbm's plan also includes help and advice on ways to improve their income.

Children living in poverty with disability cannot see, cannot here, cannot play or dance ... but with your help they can shine.
